Assignment 1: Individual Journal
For the first individual assignment, we were required to write a journal entry about an event and experience, then explain it with two or more social psychology theories and concepts. We were asked to relate the concepts and theories with the situation and also define each theory and concept according to the syllabus we were learning.
Throughout this assignment, I've learned that we should
always apply the social psychology concept and theory to my personal life. Not
only that, I was able to understand myself better and my interactions with the
people around in terms of psychology. Most of all, I get to engage in
psychological inquiry and become self- regulated learners.
Assignment 2 : comic
strips.
For the second assignment, we were required to form a group
of four to produce a comic strip. My group members included Claire Zhuang Zhi
Jie, Pua Zhi Qin Sofia and I.Besides that, we were also required to briefly
present our comic to the class during the day of submission.
We would have to come up with a story link, at the same time
linked them with any social psychologies theories within the chapter one till
six. I find it rather challenging where we're not familiar with comic drawings
or any animated sketching. The concepts that we have included are self-fulling
prophecy, false consensus, spotlight effect, correspondence bias, the halo
effect, peripheral route, mood of audience, social proof influence,
sexism-sterotypes and attitude influence behaviour.
Throughout completing this comic strips, I learnt how to
include social psychology concept in producing a comic stript.
Assignment 3: Video Clip
For the final assignment, we were divided into a group of
three. My group members included Ricky Wong, Vanessa Liew Chia Niu and I. This
assignment consisted of three components which include creating a video clip by
incorporating the concepts learned in class, a written report of the clip and
presenting the clip to the class. Throughout conducting this project, I've
asked the favour of Boon How and Celene Soo to help acting out with applying
social psychology theories in the video while I did a favour back for their
group in return. Besides that, I was able to recognise and identify the
connections among concepts and perspectives within psychology and with other disciplines.
I have also learnt how to apply the social psychological concepts and theories
futher in real life by analyzing them through experience in everyday life. I
have also realised that some of the theories applied to myself as well. Below
