DESIGN VISUALISATION

PROJECT 1: VISUALISATION, OBSERVATION AND RENDER TECHNIQUE.

I was to produce a minimum of nine sketches exploring and experimenting on nine different topics each for this project. In order to conduct this project in sketching the objects of a few topics, I have visited Sultan Abdul Samad Building, Kuala Lumpur Butterfly Park and also, KL Sentral. Below are the sketches that I have completed for this project :

PROJECT 2: DEVELOPING ARCHITECTURE DRAWINGS

For this project, I was to choose two objects as my subject which both are not bigger than the size of an A4 paper to be measured, observed and present it in architecture drawings.

Here are the drawings that I have produced:

PROJECT 3(A): SITE ANALYSIS.

Project 3 Part A concentrates on the observation and visualisation skills in a variety of ways. It aims to provide us with first-hand conscious experiences of direct observation on site and starting to find design inspiration through engaging with the site given, as well as the surroundings of the site. For this project, my group consist of Edward Cheng, Cecilia Tie, Chong Lai Mun, Chung Wei Jin and Eric Lai whereas our site given is the UNIVERSITY SQUARE. I have learnt how to identify and understand the key factors affecting the site and how things can be present in a systematic and analytical ways in drawings. I have also applied what I've learnt in class in the analysis report with the help and guidance of my tutor, Ms. Sufina .

PROJECT 3(b): ART INSTALLATION.

Throughout this art installation process, I got the opportunity to express my thoughts and creativity, as well as awareness about my site visually and in a form of a model.  In addition, I have improved in developing my ideas and got more confidence in communicating these ideas through visualising to my lecturers. Also, I get to experience how to work with a variety of visual and graphic programs especially Adobe Photoshop CS6 and Adobe In Design to produce an interesting presentation board and panel. Lastly, I have also learned that producing a model or an art installation is not easy as it has to go through a series of thoughts, development, changes and decisions in order to produce a good and complex model.

The concept of Treedom is based on trees and the idea of freedom. The frame of this treehouse mimics a circular shape of a bird's nest which is made up of a few beams with a thin foundation. The thin foundation supports are designed to minimize impact on the roots system and ground surface, also using just a minimal usage of space. Instead of experiencing the university square as patches of urban greenery, this structure could offer students to be able to use this space and able to intergrate themselves without harming the environment, but enhancing it.

Treedom is also set to excite students and reignite their interest in nature. The term tree house simply to any structure built on the boughs and limbs of trees. However, the aim rather, through this art installation, is to break down the feeling of seperation that exists between humans and nature.
